The mystery of this dish is weather or not
I can ever duplicate it. For
what it is worth, here it is. I made it in the crockpot last
night and
finished it up this morning.
1pound
sirloin cut into cubes (go meatless, use ground beef
or some "veg" meat)
2 cups dry black beans (use pinto or some other if you
like)
5-6 fresh roma tomatoes, diced
6 fresh mushrooms, sliced
1red bell, seeded and diced
3stalks of celery, diced
1medium yellow onion, diced
1small can of tomato sauce and two additional cans of water
1tblp dry cumin powder
|
1tblp dry cumin powder
1tblp dry red chili powder
1tsp salt
molasses
I put this all in a crockpot and cooked it on low for
about 12 hours,
stirring here and there. I added the salt and molasses in the morning after
taste testing it. It has a mildly spicy, flavor- not hot. I do not like
thick chili, like that the consistency of brick mortar. This is wet and
juicy! |
